Timothy J. Traveny was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania and grew up directly outside the limits of both Hershey and Fort Indiantown Gap within the village of Grantville. He began his career in optics before
graduating from Lower Dauphin High School in 2007, and the passion he’d develop for high-quality optical manufacturing knows no bounds. Lab Technician (Emeritus)
Gerry has been a lab technician and optician for over forty five years, and has worked in the optical laboratory for Weber Vision Care and its affiliated organizations since 1965. Over that time, Gerry has been responsible for ordering, grinding, finishing and edging lenses for tens of thousands of central Pennsylvania eyes. Gerry recently retired from full time duty at Weber Vision Care, but will be helping us out occasionally when we need his help. If you see Gerry on the street, you should thank him for actually being able to see him on the street.
Piper, who graduated from Mechanicsburg High School recently (we won’t tell you what year so you won’t get as depressed as we did), is our newest optician! Piper, who has been in the optical profession since the beginning of 2015, continues to study and is working toward a degree in Political Science. She loves traveling to different places to try new food (so she’ll fit right in with the rest of us), especially Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. When away from work, Piper enjoys going to concerts and spending time at home with her dog and two cats. We’ll update you with her favorite brands of eyewear after she’s been here a bit longer…
