Over 30 Years of Experience

Wiley X was founded in 1987 by U.S. Veteran Myles Freeman Sr. His sons Dan and Myles Freeman Jr. are continuing the legacy of the private, family-owned company in Livermore, CA. In 2007, the company further broadened its presence in Europe by opening a second location in Denmark, allowing better access to other countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Years of continuous research have enhanced the Wiley X brand to be some of the best, most protective eyewear on the market.

The Mission

The company was founded on an exclusive goal – “to provide superior protective eyewear to the brave men and women who defend our country.” While this still holds true, Wiley X has expanded its clientele to civilians needing occupational safety glasses, exceptional sunglasses, and protective eyewear for youth sports. Now, hard workers, active children, professional athletes, and motorcyclists can wear the same quality eyewear originally designed for our military heroes.

Further research and development has led to a tactical line of goggles and sunwear specifically for the military. A removable Facial Cavity Seal protects eyes from fine dust, pollen, and other irritants. It also helps to block peripheral light that can cause glare. Protection Standards

Originally designed for tactical applications on the battlefield, Wiley X eyewear ensures protection against impact and outdoor elements: UV sun damage, wind, sand, and other debris. FILTER 8™ polarized lenses offer 100% polarization and 100% UV protection. Additionally, all Wiley X products undergo strict and extensive impact resistance testing. The High Velocity Impact Resistance Test uses 40 mm to 65.1 mm-sized projectiles fired at 90 mph! This is the international safety standard for soccer, basketball, racquetball, squash, badminton, paddle ball, tennis, and handball.

Clear Vision

A superior level of protection means nothing if the clarity of vision is poor. Wiley X eyewear is available in both prescription and non-prescription forms. Using SEL (Smart Edge Lens) Technology, Wiley X provides the best possible vision by minimizing distortion and alterations of object size in one’s field of view.
