Meet Our Staff – Piper

Meet Piper Burke – one of Weber Vision Care’s opticians!

We welcomed Piper to the team in June 2018, and she now has 5 years of optician experience. Upon starting at Weber Vision Care, Piper soon realized that she loves the patients here because everyone is so much happier than at her previous job. (We also agree that our patients are truly the best!) Piper joined the optical industry on a whim – she was having an eye exam when she overheard the staff say they needed to hire an optician. After an on-the-spot interview, she became an optician and the rest is history!

Her favorite aspect of being an optician is performing adjustments and repairs. She said, “I love working with my hands and problem solving.” Piper also enjoys educating patients on different lens options and teaching the importance of selecting lenses that will provide the best vision. She favors Seraphin and NW 77th frames, as she feels they have sturdy structure and stylish designs.

Seeing a child react to his or her first pair of glasses makes the hard days worth it. Piper remembers a specific boy who noticed a drastic improvement in vision once getting his first pair of glasses. She was also able to bond with him over their mutual following of the Miami Dolphins football team. These are the memories that keep her going!

When Piper isn’t at Weber, you might find her visiting Baltimore or Philly with her boyfriend. They also venture to new restaurants and love cooking different types of food. Her dog and four cats keep things interesting, but she wouldn’t have it any other way!
